Luke has worked for Leightons since 1999. He started his career as the IT Manager for the Leightons Group, having joined straight from University. He became Operations Manager in 2007, prior to his appointment as a Director in 2011.
Luke is responsible for the Marketing and IT teams, as well as Leightons property portfolio and business development. In his business development role he leads the new business at Leightons, and is responsible for Acquisitions, Joint Ventures, Franchises and Shared Ownership.
He is a Prince2 Practitioner, has an MBA from Henley Business School, and has completed the Oxford Programme on Negotiation at Oxford University -Said Business School.

Why did you choose to work for Leightons?
Leightons has been my Optician since I was a child, I got my first pair of National Health glasses from Leightons when I was 6 years old! So I knew the brand well when a temporary position in the accounts department became available during the summer whilst I was home from University. My business degree had a year in industry as part of the course, and Leightons offered me the opportunity to return and complete this year with them. After completing my year in industry I was offered a permanent role once I had completed my final year, and I have been here ever since.
How does the culture of working at Leightons differ to other places?
I have limited experience of the culture in other companies, but I have stayed at Leightons because of the fantastic culture that makes you feel part of the family. The people who work for Leightons are amazing, everyone really lives the values that are core to the companies existence, which is caring deeply about our customers. I cannot imagine working anywhere else where this is the case.
How does Leightons stay at the forefront of the optical industry?
Leightons never stands still, we are always innovating and looking for new ways to provide the best eye and hearing care on the High Street. Our customers are always at the heart of what we do, and we are constantly investing to provide the highest quality products and services, and always embracing the latest technologies to stay ahead and at the forefront of the optical industry.
How has your career changed or improved since working at Leightons?
Leightons has always provided the opportunites for career development, both through work based experience, and training. But most importantly, they have always challenged me with new roles and responsibilities, and provided me with the tools to do the job well.
What do you value most about being a Leightons employee?
