Since 1926 Oliver Goldsmith has been producing eyewear to stand out from the crowd. Initially only using tortoiseshell designs, he soon began using acetate to create the frames he had always imagined: big, bold and madly colourful.
Oliver Goldsmith has been a hit with celebrities from Michael Caine to Audrey Hepburn. The style is so unique and statement, it is easy to see why those in the limelight would be drawn to these designs. To this day, Oliver Goldsmith is designing eyewear unapologetically extrovert, whilst also still producing designs from the 60’sand 70’s. These ‘vintage’ styles are still applicable in modern style.
The legacy of Oliver Goldsmith and their contribution to modern eyewear fashion has earned them a feature in the V&A museum. This selection in the museum showcases designs between 1930-1980, showing the evolution of style with over 70 frames on display.
We love the eccentric style of these frames, and how Oliver Goldsmith has managed to make traditional ‘retro’ eyewear still sought after today.
