Rebecca Sharp

Managing Director

Rebecca first joined Leightons in 2005 as HR Manager following a career in Financial Services and specialist HR, before being appointed Operations Director in 2011. In this role, she secured government funding from GrowthAccelerator to enable us to build the Leightons Learning Academy, which after thousands of people interactions is now moving into the digital space as well.

As Operations Director, Rebecca also worked hard to change the face of the Leightons branches, including adding “& Hearing Care” to our name and integrate the optical and hearing services into one cohesive whole. Alongside this, she has built strong teams of people who have the passion, skill and expertise to bring to life our purpose of helping people to see, to hear and to live.

Furthermore, during this period, Rebecca launched the Leightons Foundation, which to date has supported numerous charities including Guide Dogs, National Deaf Children’s Society, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Macmillan Cancer Support, Alzheimer’s Society, Macular Society and Mind. The Leightons Foundation continues give back to our communities every year through a range of activities, and remains a key embodiment of our values.

After becoming Managing Director in July 2019, Rebecca’s goal now is the continuous development of our people strategy, encouraging training and development as well as recognising and promoting subject matter experts. She is also leading the clinical development of our business, finding technology-enabled solutions to create high performers who can deliver fantastic customer experience.

In her spare time, Rebecca supports the Fostering Service, the Women’s Network and offers coaching and support to parents wanting to return to the workplace after career breaks.
