Leightons Farnham is delighted to welcome Mr Neil Modi, Consultant Ophthalmologist, to the practice, where he now runs regular clinics on Wednesday afternoons.
The clinics are open to private patients with a range of ophthalmic conditions. The services available include:
An ophthalmologist is a medically trained eye physician and surgeon, or “eye doctor”. They are qualified to diagnose and treat injuries and conditions in and around the eye. They differ from optometrists, who carry out eye tests, diagnose sight conditions and prescribe glasses or contact lenses, in that only an ophthalmologist is medically trained.
Mr Modi has more than 10 years’ experience in treating conditions of the eyes and eyelids, and practices at hospitals in Camberley and Guildford alongside running his clinic in Leightons Farnham. He specialises in treating glaucoma and eyelid conditions, as well as offering cataract surgery, with an outstanding reputation for safety and care.
Mr Modi leads surgical simulation training in South East England, and is also responsible for the training of eye consultants at Frimley Park Hospital. His textbook Basic Science In Ophthalmology is used by students taking the Royal College of Ophthalmology exams, and he has published many peer reviewed articles exploring his specialist fields.
Like Leightons, Mr Modi strongly believes in delivering the highest quality care with a personalised service, working with his patients to create an individual treatment plan to help them achieve the best possible outcome for their vision and eye health.
This service is currently available at Leightons Farnham only.
